Wednesday 21st December
The Mummers are coming to do their crazy Christmas Play on the 21st December - in the evening but exact time not known. Come along and either have supper or just a drink. Its always a laugh.
New Years Eve - 31st December - 1st January
Looks like we will be open on New Year’s Eve as we have a quorum. Give us a ring if you would like to join us.
Jazz Jam - First Sunday in the Month
We have regular Jazz Jam session on the first Sunday of the month at around 8.00p.m. Come along and see Peter Surridge at the beginning of the session is you want to join in or just come and enjoy the music.

Burns Night - Friday 27th January
We are once again having our traditional Burns Night celebration on the 27th January. Complete with Bagpipes, traditional menu (see below) speeches and songs. We already have several parties booked to ring soon if you would like to join us. Tartan should be worn!!

This Quiz was really fun - one of the best and a bit different with a ‘multiple choice’ round! Thank you to Clive for devising the questions. Around £240 was raised. Thanks to all who came.

French Lessons with Sandrine
Sandrine is still teaching French Conversation on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. She has opened up a couple more classes this term so let us know if you would like to join. All levels welcome.

Apple Pressing day - Sunday 16th October
Apple Pressing Day last Sunday was amazing. We were blessed with a fabulous day, litres and litres of apple juice was pressed, lots of it brought by villagers. Cakes and jams and chutneys were all bought and there were lots of different varieties of apples to try. Over £200 was raised for the church as well as some for the upkeep of the press.

6th Annual Reunion of the Friends of the Froth...
We had an amazing lunchtime last Saturday when the Froth Blowers came for lunch. This is a very old philanthropic organisation whose Motto is ‘lubrication in moderation’ and sing songs - mainly ‘The more we are together….’ and enjoy each others company. Red Lion Summer Exhibition
You don’t need to go to London to see good Art. Come to the Red Lion next weekend Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th September, 10 till 12 and 2 till 4 and see the amazing work produced by the artists in our two art classes.

BrightFest 2011
Despite the appalling weather forecast for the weekend the rain stayed away (after we got drenched in the morning putting up several gazebos) and we had an amazing weekend.
Brilliant music, Delicious Barbecue, cooked by our regulars, thanks to you all. Lovely local beers and cider.
And £1500.00 raised for the Bone Cancer Research Trust in memory of our lovely friend Alex.

Alex's Memorial Quiz
We had an amazing quiz on Monday 30th May. Andy Lewis’s questions all had an Alex theme and there were pictures around the pub so it really felt like Alex was there. An amazing £1337 was raised for Bone Cancer Research. Thank you to everyone who came and helped to make it such a great night.

Royal Wedding party - Friday 29th April
Champagne Breakfast from 9.30 to 12.00 a.m. where you can watch the wedding on huge TV.

Jazz Jam - 1st Sunday of every month
The first few Jazz Jams have been really great. About 10 musicians turn up with saxophones, clarinets, drums, keyboard and guitar. The standard of musicianship is excellent and the music very easy listening. There can’t be many opportunities to listen to such good music free of charge (and even join in if you feel so inclined!!)

Darts
We now have a dart board, (and a light!!) Unfortunately as the only place with a high enough ceiling for the board was in the restaurant we can only play on Sunday and Monday nights (and possibly Tuesday nights if we are not too busy) but we thought that was better than nothing so come along and have a game. Once we have all had a practise we may even get competitive!!
Quizzes at the Red Lion
Our monthly charity quizzes continue to be really popular and great fun. Generally, the more people the organiser of the quiz gets to come, the more money they raise!
We have raised over £5000.00 over the past year and a half so if you would like to raise money for a good cause give us a ring to discuss.

French Lessons
Sandrine Arnould Sandrine will be continuing her informal French conversation lessons this term on Monday and Tuesday mornings. £10.00 an hour including a cup of our delicious coffee. All levels of French catered for. The lessons last term seemed fun, in fact from what I could see there was far too much laughter going on for it to be educational!!! Ring Sandrine for more...
