Flight For Heroes
One of our regulars, Sarn Terry is doing an amazing paramotor flight from the north of Scotland to south of England right now. He is trying to raise as much as possible for Help for Heroes. On Monday 30th April the quiz will be to raise money for Wallingford Rowing Club Gym. As usual start at 8.00 p.m. finish by 10.30 at the latest at it is a school night after all!

Red Lion Street Party - Sunday 3rd June
To carry on our celebration of The Queens Diamond Jubilee we will be having another Street Party on Sunday 3rd June from 12.00
The street outside the pub will be closed and we will have a barbecue, some gentle live music, and general merriment.

Wednesday 21st December
The Mummers are coming to do their crazy Christmas Play on the 21st December - in the evening but exact time not known. Come along and either have supper or just a drink. Its always a laugh.

Burns Night - Friday 27th January
We are once again having our traditional Burns Night celebration on the 27th January. Complete with Bagpipes, traditional menu (see below) speeches and songs. We already have several parties booked to ring soon if you would like to join us. Tartan should be worn!!

Apple Pressing day - Sunday 16th October
Apple Pressing Day last Sunday was amazing. We were blessed with a fabulous day, litres and litres of apple juice was pressed, lots of it brought by villagers. Cakes and jams and chutneys were all bought and there were lots of different varieties of apples to try. Over £200 was raised for the church as well as some for the upkeep of the press.

6th Annual Reunion of the Friends of the Froth...
We had an amazing lunchtime last Saturday when the Froth Blowers came for lunch. This is a very old philanthropic organisation whose Motto is ‘lubrication in moderation’ and sing songs - mainly ‘The more we are together….’ and enjoy each others company. Red Lion Summer Exhibition
You don’t need to go to London to see good Art. Come to the Red Lion next weekend Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th September, 10 till 12 and 2 till 4 and see the amazing work produced by the artists in our two art classes.

BrightFest 2011
Despite the appalling weather forecast for the weekend the rain stayed away (after we got drenched in the morning putting up several gazebos) and we had an amazing weekend.
Brilliant music, Delicious Barbecue, cooked by our regulars, thanks to you all. Lovely local beers and cider.
And £1500.00 raised for the Bone Cancer Research Trust in memory of our lovely friend Alex.

Alex's Memorial Quiz
We had an amazing quiz on Monday 30th May. Andy Lewis’s questions all had an Alex theme and there were pictures around the pub so it really felt like Alex was there. An amazing £1337 was raised for Bone Cancer Research. Thank you to everyone who came and helped to make it such a great night.
