BrightFest 2008

BrightFest was a resounding success and it is safe to say it will be at least an annual event.  it was lovely to see the pub full of so many people of all ages.  The weather was kind, the barbecue and beer delicious, and the bands awesome.  It is so impressive to see so much talent in our small village.  Thank you to all who came and gave generously to the charity boxes for the M.S. therapy centre in Milton Park.  We are thinking of having a ‘BrightFest revisited on 13th September just before all the teenagers go off to university so if you missed the first one there may be another chance. Watch this Space!

Jazz Jam - 1st Sunday of every month

The first few Jazz Jams have been really great.  About 10 musicians turn up with saxophones, clarinets, drums, keyboard and guitar.  The standard of musicianship is excellent and the music very easy listening.  There can’t be many opportunities to listen to such good music free of charge (and even join in if you feel so inclined!!)

Come along on the first Sunday of July to see for yourself

Darts

We now have a dart board, (and a light!!)

Unfortunately as the only place with a high enough ceiling for the board was in the restaurant we can only play on Sunday and Monday nights  (and possibly Tuesday nights if we are not too busy) but we thought that was better than nothing so come along and have a game.  Once we have all had a practise we may even get competitive!!
